10 titres pour cette jolie petite compilation parisienne parue en juin 2002, et 6 artistes. D’abord, des pseudos en forme d’onomatopées, Grabuk, Tzii et Thropp. Electro microbienne pour le premier (un garçon venu de Hambourg), berceuse concrète (entre ronflement et tintinnabuli) et ballade lo-fi pour le second (par ailleurs animateur déclaré du label), downtempo sombre et grinçant pour le troisième (un parisien dont ce sont les premiers sons publiés) : voilà, avant d’aller même plus loin, trois projets à découvrir, donnant une idée de l’ouverture du label. A découvrir aussi, le projet “chill out” de Parasite (from Bristol, entendu à plusieurs reprises chez Peace Off) : ça s‘appelle Music For Sleeping, et ça ressemble beaucoup à ce que fait Tzii dans le genre vieillot et déglingo.
Tout aussi réussie, la double participation de Gamaboy (des morceaux issus de son CDr auto-produit “Duke oda to coma”) s’inscrit là-encore pleinement dans l’esthétique de Night On Earth : collage ambient joliment rêveur (“Departure”), collage bordélique d’inspiration free jazz (“The use of inhuman being jazz”), collages chelous surtout. Alors, la question se pose. Un E.P. de cette trempe serait-il vraiment complet sans l’ami Boris Domalain ? Pas d’inquiétude, le garçon est lui aussi doublement présent. D’abord en tant que Saoulaterre, pour son meilleur titre produit en 2002, “Parfois une brutalité cruciale”, qui confond electronica et pyrotechnie, mêle brillances et déflagrations, fuse et éclate avec majesté. Ensuite, beaucoup moins gracieux mais beaucoup plus drôle, en tant que Gorki Plubakter, dans une de ses inimitables java à deux balles (“Les lâches”). Certes, c’est assez déconcertant. Mais, comme le dit justement le macaron de cette face B : “diversity is the force”. On ne peut qu’acquiescer.

the second noe from france - this time a 12inch starting with gamaboys deaparture tiny calm melodies and word fragments - like a sunny afternoon on a swamp harbour, grabuk follows with flachland a drone piece where a heart beat like rithm runs throu strange glitching sounds. the heartbeat fades in and out several times, tzii caresse automatique is like on first neo 10" with granular sounding cranky drones and something like sounds of a bike cycle and small bells - a huming nice track, tziis second, red room dub just follows up, ring modulated walzer like rithm with a dusty organ and some echoing vocals and nice dubby sounds, music for sleeping is the last one of side one, a certain smile is the name of this track by parasites side secret name on this release. its sounds like listen to a 50ies bar music with glitch sounds all around. flipping sides we have saoulaterre with tumbling filtered distorted breaks, but not fast beats, more like stuff you hear in distance. the air is also filled with many ambient sounds in different shapes, thropps first on this is target zone, more upspeed then the other tracks on this record, bubbling sounds, a dub beat, feedbacks and other stuff whirling around and at the end some kind of hihop vocals appear, second track from thropp is called handmade and also got dubby cruel hip hop beats, distorted and cut upped, feedbacks and drones all around, gamaboy appears second time on side 2 with a strange ambient voodoo dub piece that collapse into noise and gorki plubakter ends with a funny deranged france chanton in 3/4. this is a nice calm record with much experimental potential on it.
